Sharon E Clemmer Fine Art
My Story
Sharon was born and raised in rural Jacinto, Mississippi, where creativity first found its way into her life. As a child, she eagerly awaited the annual Sears Christmas catalog, choosing new art kits with the kind of excitement only a young artist can feel. With few resources in a small town, drawing and painting became her — place of peace, curiosity, and boundless imagination.
Like many, adulthood brought new priorities. Sharon devoted herself to raising her family and building a career in the administrative field at a local university. Yet it was within those very university walls that her creative spark reignited. Sitting in an art class one day, she realized, “This is dreamy. I’m so lucky to have found my passion — and stubborn enough to change my direction.”
Seeking an alternative to traditional academic models, she found her perfect fit in Kevin Murphy’s Evolve Art Education program, thriving under its emphasis on structure, discipline, and rigorous critique. From this foundation, she actively expands her mastery through intentional workshop studies with celebrated artists like Daniel Gerhartz, Bryan Mark Taylor, Elizabeth Robbins, Colley Whisson, and the late Dennis Perrin.— each experience adding depth and versatility to her artistic voice.
Sharon paints from instinct — from the tug of color, the rhythm of movement, and the emotional truth inside each subject. Some days her work leans into realism and calm; other days it breaks rules with joyful abandon. But always, always, it carries heart.
Her Mississippi upbringing — grounded in love, humility, and hard work — quietly threads itself through her paintings, giving them an authenticity that can’t be manufactured.
In 2022, tragedy struck when Sharon’s father disappeared. In the midst of heartbreak, she found a deeper reliance on her faith in God and a renewed sense of purpose. To honor his memory, she began placing a small heart above the E in her signature — a quiet tribute, a symbol of love, and a reminder that art can hold what words cannot.
For Sharon, it isn’t just something she does. It’s who she is – the destination is still unfolding. But with each brushstroke, she captures a bit of emotion, a bit of gratitude, and a bit of the journey — always eager to see where it leads next.---
Sharon Resides in Mississippi with her husband Andy of 40 years - her steadfast encourager - and her Yorkie, Jovi, her loyal painting partner.
